Fancy Ghee Popcorn

Our favorite flavors to pop and top popcorn are Fancy Niter Kibbeh, Traditional Niter Kibbeh and Brown Butter. Though they all can be used!

The method:

  • Add 2 Tbsp Ghee (traditional or flavor) to stockpot and heat on med high

  • For our famous Turmeric and Black pepper popcorn, add 1/2 tsp Turmeric and 1/4 tsp (pinch) fresh black pepper to heating ghee. (leave out this step if going for Niter Kibbeh corn or other flavors)
  • Add 1/2 cup of organic popcorn kernels and shake to coat them cover pot with lid

  • As soon as you hear the first pop, keep the pot moving when the pops begin to slow, lower heat and keep shaking

  • Remove from heat and toss gently

  • Add 2 more Tbsp melted flavor of your choice

  • Sprinkle coconut sugar (about 1 Tbsp for savory flavors, and more to taste for sweeter, more kettle-corn-like popcorn). This really works well with Niter Kibbeh, even if it sounds weird.

  • Pinch of Himalayan pink salt to taste

  • Toss and enjoy! Adjust sweetness and saltiness to your liking

RECIPE: Oatmeal with Oomph
RECIPE: Oatmeal with Oomph

March 21, 2022

Buckwheat is a wonderfully versatile grain that can be made either sweet or savory. Its warming and drying qualities make it ideal for watery and earthy Springtime. It is high in iron and magnesium, nourishing the blood and the muscles. The apple is great for thinning the bile and cleansing the liver. This oatmeal with oomph leaves you feeling full and nourished but not weighed down. This is my breakfast most days in the Springtime and I love it!
