MahaGhee® is THE Ayurvedic Ghee, outlined in the Charak Samhita. Made by caring and careful stewards of the sacred Gir Cow in Gujarat, India on an ashram, completely by hand. While our Ahara Ghee® is the closest to this process on US soil, MahaGhee™ is made in the extremely traditional process. Cows are milked by hand. They are a completely A2 herd of Gir cows (Indian Native humpbacked cows as outlined in the Charak). This precious product is perfect for those who want their ghee the way it was made 10000 years ago.
We, at Ahara call it the "Blue Cheese" of ghee. Gir cows have a distinct flavor that they impart to their milk that makes this ghee taste unique. Always cultured before being churned, MahaGhee® is churned from the whole cultured curd, rather than cultured cream. While this is mostly preference, it yields a different tasting product perfect for the ghee connoisseur in your life.
