Ethiopian Awaze Sauce
Awaze Sauce is a collaboration with our friends at Brundo Spice Market, owners of Cafe Colucci, and reflects their own family recipe. Awaze is traditionally used as a condiment for meats and vegetarian dishes such as dinich alicha or ater kik alichato. In addition, we think it is delightful on veggies, pulses, and grains as well as used as a simmer sauce. Mix it with Niter Kibbeh and use instead of Katsup, or as a dip for bread and cheeses, or use it as a way to glow up your favorite simple dishes.
Ingredients: Berbere Spice Blend, Tej (Ethiopian Honey Wine), Himalayan Pink Salt, PNW Honey, Citric Acid
